Many people showed up at Depot Park last Saturday morning to walk 2.5 miles to help raise money for local resident and artist Jean Cavalier in her fight with breast cancer.
The walkathon was organized by Michelle Phaup and Lend A Helping Hand. "We had 33 people show up to walk and collected $1100 in donations. We have some outstanding pledges that we plan to collect this week," said Phaup. "I am hoping to hit $1,500. I think that's a great amount of money for 33 people."
