A Friend I'll Miss Forever Barb is a wonderful, dear friend of mine who made a huge difference in so many lives. She lit up a room when she entered and her sense of humor made everyone laugh and enjoy being around her. Barb had a great gift and used it to help 'special needs' kids in the Clarkston school district. She was instrumental in helping my Jessica, my daughter, blossom. - Michelle Phaup

Barbara J. Toomey Greenstone of Clarkston passed away on Jan. 7 at the age of 54. She was the adored wife of Arthur; loving mother of Mollie, Anita, and Anthony Anderson, all of Clarkston; loved sister of Betty Ann Varon, Maribeth Toomey, Eileen (Kyle) Mulligan, and Tim Toomey; dearest friend of Paul (Sue) Anderson, Janet (Rob) Gerula, and Michael (Donna) Anderson. Barbara was a Special Education Teacher for autistic young adults in the Clarkston school system. She magically brought out the previously unknown talents and skills of her students and their families, and immeasurably improved their lives. Barbara was adored throughout her personal and professional life by everybody who knew her. Funeral Mass Friday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Waterford. Friends may visit Thursday 3-9 p.m. at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston, and directly at the church from Friday 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
